Zack recorded natural sounds from each of the four seasons and arranged them as rhythmic beds and soundscapes throughout the record. "Leaves, ice, water, birds, fireworks, wind in a fireplace... it's all in there, but sometimes it's pretty mangled. You might not even know what you are hearing." Piece of FTM were recorded in a Pennsylvania cottage, a Lake Erie boathouse, at recording studios in Boston and at Orr's new home in Portland, OR. Zack also collaborated via the internet with musicians form the across the US in preparation for a spring 2007 release. Beginning April 1st, all 12 songs will be released one song per month, over the course of a year. 5% of all songs sales will be donated to The American Foundation for the Blind. The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) is a national nonprofit that expands possibilities for people with vision loss. Born in Atlanta, GA, the list of places songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Zack Orr has called home has spanned the globe from Austin to Boston, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, London, and now Portland.
